Raindrops..

The monsoons have hit dilli! Yayyy! Not in full force, but they've begun. And the first shower began while I was out swimming today :) I love the pool. Reminds me of the pool at the Royal Hospital Rec-centre. And ofcourse reminds of a certain 'bet' about who swims faster! (Obviously that would be me!)
Anyway, I love rains, and delhi even more when it rains here. Everything's green and fresh and cool.
That apart, Rakhi's swayamvar began today, on tv. Caught the last 15 mins of the episode today. It was Such a Riot! Lol! The potential grooms are doing even more 'nautanki' than Rakhi has ever done! Too funny!

garmi-baarish

Trust UGC to make you spend the entire day in this terrible summer taking the stupidest possible exam, on a sunday. To add insult to injury, M so totally backed out of going there today. Lol!! She just sms'd, "make me proud" :) Ha Ha Ha...Like THAT's going to happen. we are so totally going back there in December...

I am hoping monsoons have hit Delhi. I cannot take another day of this weather. The AC feels like a fan, that's how hot it is. And really, How much water can you go on drinking?
Yet agaain I find the farsh to be the coolest ....except for the lizards!

garmi

If anyone needs any proof of global warming, please feel free to come to Delhi right now. It hasn't been this hot Ever. This is the beginning of a very long and awful summer. And that so doesn't help the mood.

Too much of anything can kill you. Even love.

A A A

There are people I've known for almost forever. Like the three A-women! And we're all in the Same boat! The exact ditto same boat. And we will be ok. We are not being irrational or too demanding. Oh, we are So not that!!!

Lambu engineer did his best to cheer me up today! Lol! The tweety worked :) Ofcourse 'rude' should be his middle name, but that can be overlooked for now!

July is almost upon us. And so will August. And then the stars will speak...or so we hope :)

on n on...

Parents are heading off to Hungary, later this week. I am looking forward to some alone time this time. Mainly because too many uncertainties are anyway floating about in my life right now - the job growth, the groom, the PhD. And yet it makes me wonder Why all these are so important in the first place.

I'd mentioned to L****** sometime back about wanting to buy a nice dress for myself! She'd been as taken aback as ma. However I did make the purchase, and it's the cutest thing ever...white and pink and floral! Lol! I have rediscovered, after eons, the fun of wearing something non-indian! Feels nice and girly! ;)

jaane de..!

By the way, we're out of the WT20! Lol!! For all the hype, and all the "aane de" ads, we are out of the tournament. Predictably, everyone's baying for MSD's blood. Which is something that should come to an end....it's high time we stopped behaving that way. They're all humans at the end of the day. And we are a nation of a billion plus who ourselves will not move a muscle except when it comes to criticising the cricket team, or going for religious yatras.

God, I'm just so pissed off with this country right now. Shit place, that's what it feels like.

hey bhagwaan...

Spoke to P a few days back. The two of us kept coming back to the same old topics of conversation, even though we tried our level best to avoid them!
Caught up with M yesterday. I don't think there's anyone more crazy than her that I know of! She was recounting her 'rosy days of love'! Lol!! I can't for the life of me imagine M blushing, giggling, stealing glances, acting demure.....?!?!!! I am still trying to imagine her doing all this, but sadly I fail ;)

That apart, the driving is on. I just don't think I should be though, considering I have so much of anger inside of me these days!
M was saying how she doesn't want to do anything... "no work, no studies..". I so agree with that. Infact I'm thinking maybe I should just go away for some time. Free time can kill you at times, but on some occassions it can make you see things for what they are, and how you would want them to be.....or whatever

“I've been making a list of the things they don't teach you at school.
They don't teach you how to love somebody. They don't teach you how to be famous.
They don't teach you how to be rich or how to be poor.
They don't teach you how to walk away from someone you don't love any longer.
They don't teach you how to know what's going on in someone else's mind.
They don't teach you what to say to someone who's dying.
They don't teach you anything worth knowing.”

the one who feels too much, talks too much, takes too many chances,

wins sometimes and loses often, lacks self-control, loves and hates,

hurts and gets hurt, promises and breaks promises, laughs and cries”

Tired..

After four days of family, relatives, sweets, ceremonies, music, dance, dressing up, and a weather that turned from being hot to rainy, my sister's wedding is over.

Spent all of yesterday just sleeping. And now that I've woken up, suddenly i'm feeling very hungry!

celebrations

So Federer has finallyyyyy won the French Open! Yayyy! I missed the match however, was at my cousin's engagement function! But I am so glad he won it...I suppose it was written :)

I was seriously missing M**** bua yesterday during the ceremonies. I didn't even miss her as much when bhaiyya got married, but yesterday was different. And I can't even imagine what S**** must have been going through. But she did look very pretty :)

There are some more small ceremonies lined up for today and tomorrow. The wedding's day after. One can get tired just thinking about it!

Fedex at the french '09

The Fedex has made it to the French open finals! Yayyy! :) And now hopefully, Finally, after years of agony and grief, he will conquer Roland Garros! Part of me still wishes it was a Nadal - Federer final, but what the heck! As long as Fed wins..... !

shanti...

I have been in full holiday mood for the past few weeks! There have been moments when I've been bored out of my mind, but overall I am so totally loving the feeling of not having to think about any kind of work at all! I wake up real late. Then shuffle my time between the TV, email and the newspaper...and food. Plus ma's at home, so we have loads to talk about. And the cousin's wedding is coming up, so obviously there's been shopping, and trips to the tailor and using an overdose of emotional blackmail to get him to stitch things in time for the various ceremonies!
On the Search front too things are in progress, so Obviously that gives us the most to talk about ;) The Search is one hell of a process though. It is a ज़ोर का झटका जो ज़ोर से लगता है. The unfortunate truth is that even in urban educated India, mindsets have Just Not Changed. However that apart, I have realised So many thing through this ugly and painful process, about myself and what I'm looking for in a partner...so that enlightenment feels good :) :)

old song, not so old meaning

कई बार यूँ भी देखा है
ये जो मन की सीमा रेखा है
मन तोड़ने लगता है
अनजानी प्यास के पीछे,
अनजानी आस के पीछे,
मन दौड़ने लगता है

Coming up...

Will be going to the haridwar ashram in a few days. There's the annual eye camp. Plus the Ganges, alongside which I plan to sit and understand myself.

I should however add that each time i've been there so far, i've returned with anything but sanity!
