found out!
Lol! I couldn't believe the email I got from...someone, about this blog!
Pardon my ignorance but how on earth was I supposed to know? that they would get to know?! And the whole bunch of them!!!
This comes very close to being embarassing...but well such is life...!
Anyway so the khojguru terminology ends here...will just have to come up with something new!

Ye dilli hai meri jaan..
Today Prag and I accompanied 3b for Dilli6. Needless to say the whole bunch was in a state of excitement, almost like molecules jumping about here and there in a state of disarray! And the familiar 'ma'am, you can't teach us today because....' phrase was heard the moment I entered their class! lol! 2b on the other hand questioned me how I could go with 3b when I didnt accompany them to adventure island a few weeks back.... I had no answer.
The movie is nice. In bits. Sonam kapoor looks nice! Some shots of delhi are beautiful, made me re-realise how much there is to love in this city! The music is lovely, especially the 'gainda phool' and 'maula..' songs. After the movie it took Prag and me every bit of our persuasive skills to treat the girls to coffee! I think they felt we were being obligated to, but I told them not to worry since we dont have anyone else to treat ;) To which they promptly replied 'no ma'am, you told us...!' lol!! I do love the whole lot...
Two days back I told them I wouldn't be able to go since I was hoping to go with '..this really nice guy I know', to which they said, 'it's fine ma'am, you can bring him along, and please ask him to get a few more nice guys along with him! ' :)
Khojguru has been busy, CEO after all! Spoke to the wise one about him and pingu...it's really really weird you know! Life has a funny way....
P.S. Remember the one I met in denmark? wanted to know if he could take me out to dinner... lol! When the mind is clear everything is just so easy...

NSS project meet
A group of boys from the blind school sang, with one of them playing the piano and another one on the 'dholak'. Then there were about half a dozen kids affllicted with cancer singing 'itni shakti hamay dena daata...'. Another bunch of spastic kids danced to a song from 'taare zameen par'.... And there were several other groups of disadvantaged children on stage.
It was so heartwarming to see them performing. And the hooting-shouting-clapping routine which is just so-lsr seemed stronger than ever before... Almost every performing gave goosebumps...to see how the lives of these children can be changed, and how much of a difference every small opportunity can make to their lives...

Sniff*Cough*Sneeze...
I am still stuck with an awful cough and cold, the kind that leaves you feeling all woozy and fuzzy and heavy-headed. The weather has just made matters worse. We had rain this week, yes the very same rain which is expected before the winter is seen to be truly on it's way out. So it was cold and damp and foggy and windy and it was also HG's wedding that night. Which eliminated all saree plans for all practical/feasible/rational/possible purposes! And yet there were women in the skimpiest of sarees and blouses, and I just do not know how they do it?!!?!?! Anyway the wedding was just gorgeous - the latest decor seems to be of fresh flowers and diyas... pretty nice :)
Lecutres were slightly difficult this week since the body wasn't feeling a 100% efficient. I have been dying to take a leave. Thankfully the fever hasn't set in, in a big way till now. Today the dept fest began. And it was quite a mess! We had a panel discussion where the first two panelists spoke for well over an hour each. The third panelist was Mojo, and I felt so bad about the whole thing. Among the first two was Gurcharan Das. I did not like him. Pompous, arrogant person that he is. The man went on and on and on with his presentation as if his was the only one for the day. I can't stand such people. He was like the Shashi Tharoor variety....what is it with these people, how can someone be so full of themselves...Tomorrow is another day of the fest and so goes one precious saturday...I'm not too sure what is causing the organisational failure - is it too much of centralisation? or decentralisation?!
Wore a saree today :) That's one resolution done with! Got a grand reception in class! The Ooohs and Aaaahs were too cute! They expect me to wear a red one tomorrow ;)
Billu Barber has become Billu, since the hair-cutters/stylists association had some objections... seriously jobless people in this country.
The BBC has some interesting shows on this month. Develop or Die comes this weekend...lookin fwd to it if i cn jst survive... I so badly want a chhuttiiii!!!

slumdog millionaire
I hadn't expected the movie to be so intense. A few scenes in particular nearly brought tears to my eyes. It was disturbing at times, but then it is all real as well, so one couldn't accept it as just-a-movie kind of thing. The actors have all done a great job, and the music is good too... But more than that it's just the pace of the movie, especially in the first half which really makes an impact. We've all had an opinion on slums, beggars etc, and more so in context of the children affected by it. This movie basically puts it infront you the way it is, no frills attached.
We had filter coffee after that and some discussion... but the heavy mood lingered on...and still does.

C not
And I realised, he is such a jerk! It's not even immaturity because that would have changed over time, if only marginally. It just IS him. And to think I went on expecting so much from him. I mean, forget about him helping me out in times of need, I now am being made to realise he can't even share in my happiness. And he has the balls to talk about us being friends. Whatever he means by it.
But well...atleast I've finally figured this bit out! अब वो अपने रास्ते और मैं अपने.
Another day
Then in the 2b re-assignment I caught one of the brighter girls cheating. Needless to say I made sure my disappointment was made clear to her.
This was followed by the hostel assembly, which was a riot! Their skits, songs and dances were engaging to say the least! The dance sequence ended with "bharat humko jaan se pyaara hai", that one song which gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it! And ofcourse it was nice to spot girls who you teach acting insane on the stage ;)
After that we headed for the department 'confrontation', also known as the 'confro'. That was interesting in itself given the diverse agends the girls came up with in order to try to be different. Voting and counting of votes followed, and the entire process made me so nostalgic of all those years back at Hindu...the same sentiments, the same support, the same questioning, the same going-through-the speech process...and the same jubilation at winning, especially that phonecall home...
The girl who won is in 2b, and when someone questioned her on how she proposed to increase informal interaction between faculty and students, pat came her reply - 'i dont think the union needs to do something like that, no one's stopping you from making that effort on your own.For instance I have this ma'am, and I keep sharing info with her...' Later on 3b came and said ma'am we figured out its you! And then one of them said, ma'am you know how much you mean to the students? there was a girl from 2b almost in tears in the cafe saying she had disappointed you, so we told her that ya ma'am does get offended if you cheat etc, but don't worry, we'll apologise on your behalf, so ma'am please dont be angry with her anymore!!!
...
I realised that sometimes this job is actually more than the lectures. It's the other little things, which unknowingly make a bigger difference to them...God I love this profession. Although I don't think I can handle the emotions that come with it sometimes!

bas yun hi...
Reefknot is angry today! lol!! I love what she's written in her blog...hope whatever it is, gets sorted out real soon...
Went to check up on the new salary and the pay slip said "Rs 0.00"! I ws so surprised! And then discovered a whole mess in the accounts department. To top it off they had the cheek to make it sound as if I was the one who had messed up! It was quite pissing off...because of certain other things too...
The department elections happen this week. Watching the girls file their nominations and come up with agendas reminds me so much of the Hindu ecosoc...the gen-sec nomination and then the president...I still remember how C and S went on trying to convince me to contest...till they succeeded :) And I think the dept photograph gets taken tommo. Next week will be the dept festival, and i have doubts regarding students' participation, given that one of the days coincides with Feb 14th...
I don't know what it is with C. I can't seem to understand a single message he's sending me these days! When I expect him to be happy for me, he questions the cause of that happiness. When I expect him to understand why I'm frustrated with some things, he questions why I want that thing in the first place...is it just me or am I missing something? But well atleast I'm no longer carrying all that baggage related to him, that has probably been the biggest relief in a very long time.
Oh by the way, I think I mentioned some new company I had w.r.t watching tennis? So that was mainly tonchi and pingu. And since then I've had The Strangest conversations (?) with pingu, thank heavens they weren't face to face! lol! I don't think I would have survived...! He is insane!
Third term feels different. One main reason for that is the urgency to finish the syllabus in time! ;) You can feel the difference in the air, and looking back, the first two terms seem like heaven! And I am so sure I'm coming down with the flu, have been trying to resist it since Bombay and I hope that trend lasts atleast for the next 2 weeks...!

RF disappoints again...
After ages I caught a final with these two...and i had some old company for sms, R & K, from college... :) and some new company too :)
But all said and done it was another one of those finals where Federer put (atleast) this fan through pure anguish...and no matter how many times it happens, I can never get used to it. I mean the guy reached the 5th set!!! How can you lost after That?! And that too when rafa was the one who'd played a 5+hr semi final.....
It was disappointing...
Have ordered pizza...need some cheering up. more so since tomorrow is monday!
